NEWPORT BEACH, CA--September 3, 2006--Today Special Ops Security is pleased to announce that one of our founders, Steven Andrés has been notified by the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) that he has successfully completed the coursework to be recognized as a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

From the ISACA website, the "Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) is ISACA's cornerstone certification. Since 1978, the exam has measured excellence in IS auditing, control and security. The CISA certification has been earned by more than 50,000 professionals since inception and has grown to be a globally recognized symbol of achievement."

While many have recently derided certifications as a waste of time and effort (see Information Secuirty magazine, July 2006), we still see them as good third- party validation of the skills that we know our people possess. Certainly nobody would recommend selecting a consultant, a professional services firm, or an employee strictly on the number of certification logos they can fit on a resume, but it does indicate the individual is able to follow a complex curriculum and achieve stated goals--not a bad quality to have in your next consultant, is it?

If you have needs that our newly certified CISA or anyone else on the team can help you with, please give us a call at 888-R-U-OWNED and we'll chart a course to solve your information security needs together.
