NEWPORT BEACH, CA--July 14, 2006--The Black Hat
Briefings is the summer highlight of any information security professional. For
the team at Special Ops Security, this year's even will be another in a long history
of attendence at the ground-breaking industry conference.
Erik Pace Birkholz, co-founder of the
strategic security and professional services firm headquartered in Orange County,
California, has been to eight of the previous nine conferences. Fellow Foundstone
alumni Steven Andrés and our new Vice President of Sales Stephan Barnes
have attended five previous Briefings. The entire Special Ops Security team will
be in attendence in Las Vegas, Nevada, August 1-3 for the much-anticipated event.
"Our small firm has had a surprising amount of success in the previous 18 months
and we're very thankful to all our colleagues and customers who made it possible," said
Birkholz. "We will be hosting a very private event at Ceasar's Palace to show our
appreciation for everyone that has helped us through the years."
Barnes, the newest member of Special Ops Security, is equally excited: "I wasn't
able to attend Blackhat last year so I'm looking forward to reconnecting with folks
I haven't seen in a couple years at the event. In my new (and familiar) role as
VP of Sales for Special Ops, I want to connect with all our current clients and
get up to speed on their needs and how we can best address their security concerns."
